Technical Monument to the Power of Wind
The Merian engraving of Schloss Wolfsburg from 1654 shows a post mill on a hill in the foreground. A master carpenter from Vorsfelde erected a post mill near to the Wolfsburg district of Kästorf in 1861. Today, it’s the last remaining windmill in the Wolfsburg city district.
The mill, which is mounted on heavy timbers and equipped with 60 hundredweight mill stones, is under historic preservation. It can be seen on the annual German Mill Day (Whit Monday) and in groups of 10 people via application at the city museum (Tel: (+49)5361/828540).
